Future impact of today`s actions

We believe that ethical standards have to reach beyond a short-term focus on environmental sustainability and reflect long-term corporate behaviour built on trust and social responsibility, extending as far as the implementation of balanced compensation models that align a firm´s interests with all stakeholders.

VERIANOS Responsibility

We believe that ethical standards have to reach beyond a short-term focus on environmental sustainability and reflect long-term corporate behaviour built on trust and social responsibility, extending as far as the implementation of balanced compensation models that align a firm´s interests with all stakeholders. Hans Carl von Carlowitz, senior fiscal officer of the King of Saxony, claimed to be the first to use the principle 'sustainability' in an economic way.

In his 1713 publication Sylvicultura Oeconomica on the economic use of forests he posited that de-forestation and re-forestation should be kept in balance to secure long-term prosperity for later generations. This was the first time that a single resource was recognised as being finite, marking the beginning of modern forestry management. And looking back, it indeed marked the first steps along a path toward the modern concept of sustainability.

Drawing on this example, VERIANOS is convinced that long-term prosperity and value creation can only be achieved if interests of all stakeholders are taken into account. Therefore, holistic thinking and action are integral components of all our business decisions; they are part of the Verianos mindset. We have a deep commitment to professionalism, fairness and integrity in all of our business activities.
